【原文】

Good morning/afternoon，dear professors! It is my honor to be here for your interview. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Xiao Mao. I’m 22 years old. I’m from Shanghai International Studies University, majoring in English. I think I'm very open-minded and warm-hearted. I am always willing to explore the new world and acquire knowledge in different fields of study.

Apart from regular academic work and campus activities, I spent most of my spare time in school library, reading works with literary merits. Classical novels like The Great Gatsby and popular fictions such as Harry Potter Series are all on my reading list. Though they do not have direct relation with my major, reading these masterpieces enriches my mind, allows me to better read people and improves my English proficiency.

I do think it is a good way to get myself prepared for the postgraduate study which requires students to read volumes of English and Chinese materials and master the skill of English-Chinese translation. And I expect to have this opportunity to further my study in your university.

除了常规的学术工作和校园活动，我的大部分业余时间都在学校图书馆，阅读有文学价值的作品。像《了不起的盖茨比》这样的古典小说和像《哈利波特》系列这样的通俗小说都在我的阅读清单上。虽然它们与我的专业没有直接关系，但阅读这些名著丰富了我的思想，让我更好地读懂人，提高了我的英语水平。

我确实认为这是为研究生学习做准备的好方法，因为研究生学习需要学生阅读大量的英汉材料，并掌握英汉翻译的技能。我希望能有机会在贵校继续深造。
