占便宜
这个词里的“便宜”不能用cheap表示
因为“占便宜”实际上表示“得到好处”
所以可以用take advantage of表示
其中的advantage指“好处”
take advantage of还可以表示 “充分利用”
Mike likes to take advantage of his friends.
迈克喜欢从朋友那里占便宜。
They took full advantage of the facilities.
他们充分利用了设备。

be an eyesore 碍眼
“碍眼”的意思是“让人看着不顺眼的”
而eyesore就表示“刺眼的东西”
Mary thinks the building is an eyesore
玛丽觉得那座大楼很碍眼。

to tell you the truth 不瞒你说
“不瞒你说”就是“告诉你真相”
所以可以用to tell you the truth来表示
To tell you the truth,Tom's company went bankrupt.

get even with扯平
这里的“扯平”并不是指“把衣服扯平”
所以不能用flat“平的”表示
它是指“两两相抵，互不相欠”
所以可以用get even with表示
其中的even有“相等”的意思
get even with sb.还有 “向某人报复”之意
You deserve it! I got even with you.
你活该！咱俩扯平了！
I will get even with you.
我会向你报复的。

put sb.down 损人
“损人”可不是damage people
这个词的实际意思是“挖苦、讽刺、羞辱某人”
可以用短语put sb.down表示
None of us likes Tom,
because he likes to put other people down.
我们都不喜欢汤姆，因为他爱损人。
除了损人的话，还有一些话更不礼貌，要慎用
比如：
①You chicken! 你这胆小鬼！
②You idiot! 你这笨蛋！
